Dunamis was established in April 2017 by a former Assistant Chef student from the Emdeni Skills Development Centre, Innocentia Mtshali. Dunamis Food & Events specialises in catering and event planning. Not only is the company about rendering a service but is also about empowering women and the youth through employment.

Director, Innocentia, is a resident of Emdeni and it made sense that the company sets up its offices at the skills centre. Thus, “we are closer to our customers and they have access to us whenever they need us”.

“Our first client was the Emdeni Skills Development Centre. With this particular job, we were tested, prepared and measured to see if we will meet industry standards and if we’re ready. As part of the Enterprise Development programme (administered by the Emdeni Skills Development Centre), we receive mentorship from professionals and for our company, this has led to great opportunities. Dunamis Food & Events has been able to work with the Department of Social Development, Flight Centre, the Abraham Kriel Bambanani Golden Oldies Rugby Tournament and were subcontracted to the Soweto Hotel for a two-day conference. Not only are we about food but about sharing information on running a profitable and successful start-up business through seminars, as well. Which are an eye opener to most entrepreneurs we engage with.The focus on these seminars is not just about getting the profits up ,but the wellbeing and development of an entrepreneur”.

“I would encourage the youth of our country to take the bull by the horns and fight poverty through education and entrepreneurship. Let’s go out there and seek information. Opportunities are available but they will not run after you ,one must go find them ,it’s not easy but it is worth it.  All it needs is focus ,patience ,determination, be hungry for success and we will take South Africa forward”.
